The Medal of Honor (MOH) Airborne demo for PC is absolutely great. If you didn’t have the time to try MOH yet, you might find the following video quite interesting. The gamer is Rex Dickson, who is by coincidence a lead designer of MOH. Rex played operation Husky (the MHO demo operation) with a sniper rifle. The much anticipated EA Medal of Honor (MHO) Airborne Demo is by all means very impressive, however for some gamers (specially the non- experienced) it turned to be a source of disappointment. Apparently, gamers who downloaded the MHO demo, failed to notice the fact that the game requires a video card that supports DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0. After downloading (1.34 GB) and installing the software, MHO won’t run and will throw a  ”The video card you are running is not supported” error message. This is going to be a busy weekend for many Xbox 360 and PC gamers. Yesterday, we reported on Bioshock’s general availability starting from tomorrow morning (demo is already available in the Xbox Marketplace). If that wasn’t enough, Electronic Arts (EA) announced that starting from August 23rd, they’ll release a demo version of Medal of Honor Airborne, their new new combat video game for Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. Demo mission will consist of the Operation Husky, a joint allied operation into the island of Sicily, Italy. The Xbox 360 Demo will available at the Xbox 360 Marketplace and the PC demo from the EA website. Medal of Honor Airborne’s general availability is scheduled to September 4th for Xbox 360 and PC and on November for Playstation 3rd. On other note, EA announced the imminent demo of Skate. So if you are into online gaming, make sure you free up some time this weekend to try Medal of Honor.

A breakthrough patent awarded to a New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) researcher will enable manufacturers to create a device to detect miniscule amounts of airborne pollutants. At work, I keep a bottle of water by me at all times. Usually, it’s a 1.5 liter sized Fiji water bottle that I refill with tap water. Seeing I spend 8 hours jockeying a register, I figure it doesn’t hurt to have something to do, so I drink water. Tons of it. I usually drink 4.5 liters over the course of those hours. My hunting continues. This last week I managed to finally snag at least one newer clone figure, the Airborne Clone Trooper. I’ll admit it, I only bought it after some hesitation. What made the decision tough was that I already have the figure, since a version of the Airborne Trooper came in the Mace Windu Battle Pack, albeit he was a bit more purple. I was a little less than impressed with it back then, because the helmet feels kind of cheap and doesn’t fit the best. Yeah, I realize I’m being Picky Toy Collector Pete on that one, but I can’t help it I’m a geek. However since this was the first 30th Anniversary clone trooper that I’ve managed to see in a store, I picked him up after the hemming and hawing. Hasbro has done a fantastic job with these cards, they practically qualify as art and it’s even more of a reason for me to keep him unopened. The winds were from the west at more than 195 miles per hour, so we crabbed 30 degrees into the wind and lost 45 miles per hour of groundspeed as a result.
