      Dan Gable on aggression
Here is a short segment with Dan Gable talking about the role of aggressiveness in wrestling. This really applies to all competitive fight sports like boxing, MMA, etc... The idea is simple. All other things being equal (and I know they never are) the more aggressive fighter will win. Why is this? New research by scientists at the University of Cambridge suggests that the neurotransmitter serotonin, which acts as a chemical messenger between nerve cells, plays a critical role in regulating emotions such as aggression during social decision-making. Aggressive Dog Behavior Aggressive dog attacks, whether against people or other dogs, can be one of the worst problems of dog ownership. Dog aggression is a common behavior and comes from the fact that the dog is a pack animal and its normal instinct is to compete, right from the time it is born. It has to compete for food (even from the very early days when it is suckling from the mother), it

      cat aggression
Aggression in cats Yet another trait well know to most cat lovers. There you are, happy to relax with your little friend, content in each others company. Cat purring as you gently stroke and caress it, totally unaware of the turmoil that is about to be unleashed as the previously angelic feline turns psychopath in an instant ! Ok, a little dramatic but you know what I mean. The causes for feline aggression can be many and varied and may need careful examination. One thing is known for sure. A severe reprimand, which may work for your children, will not work on a cat and may even make the problem worse. All living creatures come with a fight or flight mechanism built in. Its how we have managed to survive for so long. It is instinctive cats behaviour to try to run away when threatened, but,

Maine Cracks Down on Visual Sexual Aggression

It's been asserted that some legislators can justify making any action a crime--as long as they add the magic words "for the children" to the mix. This Maine bill adds proof to that assertion.State Rep. Dawn Hill, D-York, is the head cheerleader for a bill only a fan of police state actions could love. Or a police chief. Her involvement started when Ogunquit Police Lt. David Alexander was called to a local beach to deal with a man who appeared to be observing children entering the community bathrooms. Because the state statute prevents arrests for visual sexual aggres

      Risperdal, the Miracle for Aggression?
We started AJ on Risperdal, a medication used for children with autism and who need help regulating moods, last week to help control the aggression we were seeing during visits to the library or during transitions. We saw a psychiatrist to get an evaluation and to help us determine if he did need medication. The psychiatrist agreed that he did need something to take the edge off and to help him calm down. Additionally, he needs something to keep him more even because he would have one good week and then one horrible week. One thing I did just realize is that Risperdal does contain lactose and cornstarch, both of which AJ can not tolerate. Looks like I'm putting in a call to the pharmacy (and lactose is on his warning label!).Tags: risperdal, mood regulation, aggression, medication, lactose,

      Cat Training: Play Aggression
Play aggressionAggression is an inherent aspect of your cat's predatory nature: behaviors like stalking, chasing, leaping, pouncing, swatting, and biting are all common displays, and are always a major component of any play session.Usually, this doesn't constitute a problem: it's just how cats play, and catering to your cat's predatory whims can be pretty fun!But when your cat becomes play aggressive, things can get very uncomfortable, very quickly: faced with a cat that doesn't understand that such play is painful and even dangerous for her owner, playtimes with your cat can become a trial rather than a pleasure. This problem is the number-one most common form of aggression that cats display towards humans. It happens when a bored, underexercised, and lonely cat becomes overstimulated during play " and typical play-time mock aggression becomes the real deal. How do cats normally play?Cats play in two ways: social (or interactive) play, which is directed towards other cats a

      Mealtime Aggression
If you have a multicat household, there may come a time when you will have one cat who aggressively takes over the food bowl or even kicks another cat out of the kitchen. To help overcome this problem, you should make sure that each cat has their own bowl if you feed your cats on a schedule. The use of a double bowl is not recommended due to the fact that it will force the cats to be too uncomfortably close to one another. If you need to, feed them in opposite corners of your kitchen or maybe even in different rooms from each other. By taking these steps each cat should then be able to eat theirs meals without feeling threatened. If mealtime aggression continues to be a problem after following the above suggestions, you may want to consider providing more than one feeding areas and letting the cats eat when they choose to. An episode of passive aggression? you decide
I live in a family where the men don't close bathroom doors when we need to piss. It's a quick thing and it's not like we have anything to hide. When I was living in the apartments during college, one of my roommates didn't like that 'openness'. One day he decided to try something. Something I didn't like. I supposed i could have verbalized my disagreement with his actions. But I didn't. I guess I like to be creative. So instead of saying it with words, i will show my terrible cartooning skills and draw what happened that fateful day...EDIT: DAMMIT I CANT FIGURE HOW NOT TO MAKE THE PIC LOOK BLURRY!!! you'll have to click on it.

At last Indian bowlers shows some aggression – India Vs England 1st test Match Day I
At Lord’s England Captain Michael Vaughan won the toss and decided to Bat first on beautiful Lord’s ground. His batsman proves his decision very much in his favor when England at one stage 218/1 but towards the end of the first day play which was suspended 9.3 overs earlier due to bad light Indian bowler did a fantastic job to pick quick 3 wickets especially Anil Kumble who has taken 2 wickets and reduce England to 268/4. At stumps Kevin Peterson was not out on 34 and with him night watchman Ryan Sidebottom was not out on zero. Earlier England openers Alistair Cook and Strauss batted aggressively and England raises to 50 without loss in just 8.3 over of the inning. The new ball bowler of Indian cricket team didn’t maintain their line and length especially S. Sreesanth who bowls too much on middle and leg stump. Staruss has some luck in his favor and he is dropped when he was on 43 by Dinesh Karthik on the bowling of S. Sreesanth. By seeing England openers on fire Indian capt
