We started AJ on Risperdal, a medication used for children with autism and who need help regulating moods, last week to help control the aggression we were seeing during visits to the library or during transitions. We saw a psychiatrist to get an evaluation and to help us determine if he did need medication.The psychiatrist agreed that he did need something to take the edge off and to help him calm down. Additionally, he needs something to keep him more even because he would have one good week and then one horrible week.One thing I did just realize is that Risperdal does contain lactose and cornstarch, both of which AJ can not tolerate. The October, 2007 issue of Psychological Medicine presents a study examining the incidence of impulsive violence in war veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Based on previous research examing the role of orbitoprefrontal cortex (OFC) pathology (including impaired olfactory identification ability) in impulsive aggression, the study examined olfactory identification (OI) ability in war veterans with PTSD. WHAT could be wrong with Shadow? The green-eyed, long-haired cat had adapted well to his Santa Monica home. There was a carpeted cat tree in the living room for his climbing pleasure. He appeared to have reached an understanding about sharing the house with the other resident feline.
Then one day his owners saw wet spots around the house: Shadow was urine-spraying. The door was a favorite target. So was the side of the sofa. And a corner wall of the living room.

I live in a family where the men don't close bathroom doors when we need to piss. It's a quick thing and it's not like we have anything to hide. When I was living in the apartments during college, one of my roommates didn't like that 'openness'. One day he decided to try something. Something I didn't like. I supposed i could have verbalized my disagreement with his actions. But I didn't. I guess I like to be creative.
