Here's a fable told by Aesop:The Ants And The GrasshopperOne bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had storedup during the summer, when a starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat."What!" cried the Ants in surprise, "haven't you stored anything away for the winter? His flow is delicious; his lyricism is perfect for those who seek something interesting and alarmingly significant in this world where everything seems to have morphed into an unbearable piece of half-retarded quips about loving strippers and wanting to by drinks for random chicks
Ted Leo sings a funny word, and the Internet goes blog-nanas. Ted Leo leaked his new jam "The World is in the Turlet" (yes, "turlet," bitches), and it's awesome. Go here to listen to it. And feel free to play this drinking game we made up where you count how many times he says the word "turlet." Then, go puke

It amazes me that Aesop told his fables over 2500 years ago. Many are as applicable today as they were when he was alive. One of his most famous sayings. “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, ” is oft quoted by those of us interested in personal finance.
Some of Aesop’s fables and sayings are [...]

Type: .PDFAesop's Fables or Aesopica refers to a collection of fables credited to Aesop (620–560 BC), a slave and story-teller who lived in Ancient Greece. Aesop's Fables have become a blanket term for collections of brief fables, usually involving personified animals. The fables remain a popular choice for moral education of children today. Many stories included in Aesop's Fables, such as The Fox and the Grapes (from which the idiom "sour grapes" was derived), The Tortoise and the Hare, The North Wind and the Sun and The Boy Who Cried Wolf, are well-known throughout the world.Download here:
You remember Aesop, right? He was some old guy who used to tell stories about boys and wolves and foxes and grapes and um...the little engine that could and uh...that chicken with the sky falling...no wait...Well, he had a lot of stories anyway.I had a slightly different post in mind today. This post was originally just going to be about how many of my longtime blogging friends have now joined PayPerPost. I'm talking about folks who don't know much about page rank or Alexa or search engine optimization. They just like to blog, and they like the idea of earning a little money by taking opps that they are interested in or that they feel fit their site. And this post is still kind of about that. But it's also about a post I read on a well known tech blog recently containing more negative comments about PayPerPost. Those of you "in the know" or who read the boards regularly know what I'm talking about. I don't really want to link the post.&
Created over a 2 year period following his last release, None Shall Pass documents not only a vast amount of personal change that Aesop experienced over this time, but also deftly depicts scenes and stories relative to all ages of life. The majority of production duties have been handled by Aesop's longtime partner Blockhead, while label mates El-P and Rob Sonic each make offerings. Aesop himself confidently produces a handful of his own tracks as well.

No one really cares about Hip-hop anymore! Strong words for an unknown Internet reviewer such as myself, to utter I'll admit. But It's become old, dull and uninspiring on many levels. Turntableism? It's A parody of itself. If it's not Kid Koala, chances are you've heard it before. Commercial produce? Even Kanye West admits defeat these days. And now this apathy is infecting the underground. When, of all people, Aesop Rock creates a single that's worthy of a reaction no better than a yawn, you know it's the end.

After nearly three years of film scores and workout tracks, it’s time for an LP. Enter None Shall Pass (or maybe don’t), out August 28th on Def Jux. Blockhead handles production again, with appearances from Cage, Breeze Brewin, El-P, Rob Sonic and… what’s that plaintive bah-ing?
Sure high brow culture might label John Darnielle “America’s best non-hip-hop lyricist,” but Aesop’s ready to toss the Mountain Goats crooner on the last track of his album? Curious for the folk hop mash-up that will presumably occur.
