Fast forward to today December 2007. Because we have twins, we have TWO Advent calendars. Because it is 2007 and not 1800 and whatever each calendar day has a nice little chocolate candy inside. (No chalk on the door for my kids)
Fast forward to this morning. Day 4 of the Advent and my girls now feel the need to wake up at 5:30 am so they can rush downstairs and open the Advent calendar to get the chocolate candy. Now mind you, they could give a shit about the meaning of the Advent. They are 2 1/2. But tell them they can eat chocolate every morning and, well, let’s just say my girls are now Advent addicts.
If they had their way, it would be Christmas tomorrow so they could open ALL of the days NOW!

I want to know what are some positive things that you find yourself liking, seeing, doing since entering into recovery.
I would love if everyone could take a couple of minutes, head on over to What Winners Do , and just give an example of something that you are interested in now that you never thought you would be while still in active addiction.

A boot camp near Beijing has opened to help China in the battle against internet addiction; a disorder that China says is afflicting millions of their youth. This treatment center, called the Internet Addiction Treatment Center (IATC), uses military drills and therapy to help the children that are addicted to online games, cybersex, chats and Internet pornography.

LONDON (Reuters) - BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) won a second victory in a key UK patent lawsuit on Wednesday that had threatened the future of BlackBerry's e-mail service in Britain.London's Court of Appeal backed a High Court ruling from a year ago that RIM, based in Ontario, Canada, had not infringed a patent held by Luxembourg company InPro Licensing Sarl which related to how portable computers surf the Internet.Lord Justice Jacob ruled that intellectual property licensor InPro's patent was not valid and should be revoked, bringing an end to the potential threat to the BlackBerry e-mail service used by hundreds of thousands in Britain.The court ruled that BlackBerry devices were more than just the ideas that were the subject of InPro's claim, noting that they "owed nothing to the patent" and must have involved "a vast amount of actual detailed implementation and design". 1. I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I used to, before the Internet.
2. I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing.
3. I will get dressed before noon.
4. I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Internet.
5. I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are Internet-deprived.
6. I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact via the Internet.
7. I will read a book... if I still remember how.
8. I will listen to those around me and their needs and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the Internet.
9. I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for email.
10. I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not.

And, you use these little mini k-cups (sorta like the pod thingies). They are so convenient, and easy to setup. I love the fact that you get the high intensity burst of steam at the end of the brew cycle, so if you add your milk/cream prior to brewing in the cup, it froths the top.Mimimum cleanup!Maximum Freshness!And, I bought my own k-cup whatchmajiggle, so I can use my own favorite beans (currently Trader Joe's French Roast) to make a steaming hot cup of coffee. Which is so much better than some of the other one-cup machines which don't allow you to use anything besides k-cups or pods
