Microsoft adCenter: We don’t speak Mexican around here
When we started developing QuieroLatino.com as the exclusive online dating site for Latinos in the US, we created a website primarily in English but with Spanish terms and phrases incorporate throughout. When it came time to advertise online, we approached the main players in the field: Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft.Although Google made it easy for us to set up advertising campaigns, Microsoft apparently does not want business from Latinos in the US. They rejected all of QuieroLatino’s ads and sent us a shocking explanation:The reason for the disapproval is because of the use of a foreign language on the landing page. You are using the English US distribution channel and targeting the US and so you must use only the English language on the landing page. Here’s the kicker:Also, note that t

      adCenter Added New Reports
Microsoft's adCenter has placed click quality reports in their service for campaign managers to review for their advertising efforts. The new reporting functionality debuting on adCenter will create reports about the quality of ad clicks. Microsoft also took the time to tout several studies that lauded the conversion rates enjoyed by ad clients. The adCenter blog explained how clients can view these new reports. Brendan Kitts, Program Manager for Click Quality for Microsoft adCenter, also noted how Microsoft views clicks as either standard quality (good) or low quality (bad): Low-quality clicks are clicks that adCenter classifies as non-billable, including those that adCenter has identified as: Invalid clicks Clicks that have characteristics of low or unclear commercial intent Clicks that exhibit patterns of unusual activity Clicks that originate from spiders, robots, questionable sources, or test servers Clicks that should be filtered out for other reasons Some traffic that adC

Microsoft adCenter Sign Up Get $50
Just signed up yesterday for Microsoft’s new PPC adCenter and received a $50 dollar credit towards advertisement after paying my $5 activation fee.  The ad setup is fairly straight forward and along the same lines as Google’s Ad Words.  What I did was just copy my exact campaign ad that I have setup in Adwords and place it into the adCenter campaign – a simple quick setup process.  However if you are in need of some help in the setup process they have some great information videos to guide you through the process.   Use promo code SRC0407V2 Promotional Guidelines: Offer valid only through August 31, 2007 (midnight Pacific Time), while supplies last. Promotional credit is valid only for new advertisers opening a new account with Microsoft adCenter. Promotional credit not redeemed in click spend will expire 90 days after sign-up.
