      More intolerance from homosexual activists...
In his work of critical importance entitled "Man Against Mass Society," the French philosopher Gabriel Marcel writes, "..the fanatic never sees himself as a fanatic; it is only the non-fanatic who can recognize him as a fanatic; so that when this judgment, or this accusation, is made, the fanatic can always say that he is misunderstood and slandered...Fanaticism is essentially opinion pushed to paroxysm; with everything that the notion of opinion may imply of blinded ignorance as to its own nature....whatever ends the fanatic is aiming at or thinks he is aiming at, even if he wishes to gather men together, he can only in fact separate them; but as his own interests cannot lie in effecting this separation, he is led, as we have seen, to wish to wipe his opponents out.And when he is thinking

Many of the orphans' parents had been killed by the Israeli army and paramilitary Jewish terrorists, also known as "settlers." The appeal was made during a press conference at the main Girl Orphanage in downtown Hebron. Student Activists Run Amok in Indonesia over Dutch Film

That changed yesterday noon (2 April), when several dozen protesters from HMI, a Muslim student organization, vandalized the Dutch consulate in Medan, the provincial...(read more)

Why Today's Peace Activists Should Not Be Discouraged: An Example from 1958
Below is an article I found at Nuclear Age Peace Foundation I hope you enjoy it friends. Why Today's Peace Activists Should Not Be Discouraged: An Example from 1958 By Lawrence S. Wittner Originally published on History News Network After nearly five years of bloody, costly war in Iraq, with no end in sight, many peace activists feel discouraged. Protest against the war and the rise of antiwar public opinion seem to have had little effect upon government policy. But, in fact, it is too early to say. Who really knows what impact peace activism and widespread peace sentiment have had in the past five years or will have in the near future? Certainly not historians, who will spend decades pulling together such information from once secret government records and after-the-fact interviews. W

A call to activists to get serious
From Attention Activists: It's Time to Grow Up! : The Vietnam conflict was ended by those who organized sit-ins and takeovers not vigils. The Johnson presidency was brought down by those who shut down schools and colleges all over the nation, not by those who lit candles in quiet little ceremonies. Does the name Gandhi mean anything to you? He defeated an empire, peaceably and permanently when he organized acts of civil disobedience that sparked similar action by millions of Indian activists. Are there any people in history who ever have affected change via a vigil of any sort? Can you imagine what would have happened if the Founding Fathers had decided to hold a vigil rather than declare their independence from the tyranny of their British rulers? So Boulton then gets harassed by gay activists who complain that Boulton isn’t acting gay enough because he’s living with his wife and has slept with women in the past. I’m not sure how someone can’t be acting gay enough because of sexual relations that happened before the guy came out of the closet. I mean his past is kind of out of his control isn’t it? The official policy is, more or less, to support the decriminalization of abortion and not much else from what I can tell from the press releases. The Vatican has to know due to it’s decades long assault on reproductive freedom for women that AI is going to find out that decriminalization isn’t good enough when you’re dealing with laws such as the ones in America. It’s Time to Repeal the Second Amendment According to Some Activists
Gun control is likely to be a high priority in the next administration, especially if a Democrat is elected. We have already heard the rumblings since the shootings at Virginia Tech. However now there is talk that the second amendment should be repealed, not just controlled. This quote is from Benjamin Wittes, a guest scholar at the center-left Brookings Institution Wittes, who said he has “no particular enthusiasm for the idea of a gun culture,” said that rather than try to limit gun ownership through regulation that potentially violates the Second Amendment, opponents of gun ownership should set their sights on repealing the amendment altogether. “Rather than debating the meaning of the Second Amendment, I think the appropriate debate is whether we want a Second Amendment,” Wittes said. While the idea of repealing the second amendment is absurd, at least this person has a couple of points correct here. His point that controlling guns is unconstitutional is o

That’s the question the anti-womens rights activists seem to have asked themselves and they’ve apparently decided that anyone who goes with the second option is not a True Believer™. How do we know this? Well, they’ve went and attacked James Dobson of Focus on the Family for his support of the recent SCOTUS decision that essentially banned intact D&Es in an open letter that was published in the Washington Post a couple of weeks ago. Then, much to the shock and disbelief of everyone in the hearing room, Rorhbacker said to those who had expressed displeasure at his statements: "I hope it’s your family members that die when terrorists strike."now i realize the bar is set pretty low for u.s. representatives nowadays, but this is simply heinous and abhorrent.

Moscow: Political activists, police spar in Moscow
When I was in the USAF I had 2 different jobs eah for roughly 3.5 years. My first job was as a technician on Minuteman II nuclear missile sites and launch control facilities. The second job was with the USAF's european Aggressor Squadron. Our squadron taught Soviet fighter tactics to NATO fighter pilots. But my point is I have always had an eye eastward towards Russia and have stayed as current on affairs there as a layman can. I read Pravda and have even quoted it here in this blog. The changes since the demise of the Soviet Union have been amazing. Is Russia a perfect democracy? Of course not. They still have a lot of old Soviet and even Bolshevik momentum to overcome. But a few years ago something very simple showed me that Russia is past the point of no return as far as change goes. I was watching a Soyuz rocket launch to the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and they had a big sign right down front underneath the main screen that was an ad for Hewlett Pac

WebProNews: Activists YouTube Wolfowitz Into "The Office" - Phil de Vellis created the now-famous 'Hilary 1984' video that exploded across YouTube and hordes of other sites; he's at it again, helping an activist group cast World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz in a video as the less than brilliant leader of Dunder Mifflin.Excerpt:"De Vellis even posted the video to YouTube under his ParkRidge47 ID. That was a play on Hilary Clinton's birthplace and year: Park Ridge, Illinois, 1947.The sub-three minute video intersperses content from The Office with public appearances from Wolfowitz, set against the background of the global kerfuffle over his role in securing a State Department job for his romantic interest, Shaha Ali Riza.An activist group called Avaaz worked with de Vellis to make the video. In their statement, which was passed along to us by MoveOn, Avaaz calls for the firing of Wolfowitz from the World Bank."http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2007/04/20/activists-youtube-wolfowitz-

Malaysia says activists trying to harm palm oil industry by highlighting orangutan woes
Malaysia accused Western activists Monday of trying to undermine the palm oil industry by claiming that orangutans are threatened by the clearing of forests in Malaysia and Indonesia.Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said government and industry officials should take immediate action to disprove claims that the spread of palm oil plantations is endangering wildlife such as orangutans, the national news agency Bernama reported.Over the past two years, environment and consumer advocacy groups in the United States and Europe have increasingly warned that the palm oil sector in Malaysia and neighboring Indonesia is destroying large tracts of forests and encroaching on the habitats of endangered species.A recent United Nations report, "The Last Stand of the Orang Utan: State of Emergency," said oil palm plantations are expanding so rapidly in the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia that almost no virgin forest will remain by 2022.Related: Saving Sumatra' s Wild Orangutans

Call Us Passionate Atheists, Call Us Atheist Activists
Ever drawn to conflict, real or imagined, the media is now trying to make it sound like there is a great split in the atheist community over how vocal we should be in our criticism of religion. I am not convinced that this is a real conflict, but there are clearly differences among atheists in what is perceived as our responsibility to society. The mistake the media is making, as is its tendency, is one of oversimplification. Sure, there are atheists who just want religious people to leave them alone and who have no interest in expressing their opinions. There are also outspoken atheists, activists working toward meaningful change. The problem is that most atheists fall somewhere between these poles such that any artificial dichotomization is going to be misleading. It is interesting that the question buzzing around the atheist blogosphere is what to call atheists who tend toward the outspoken pole. One rarely hears people asking what we should call the atheists who just want to avoid a

Most GOP Education Activists Still Sizing Up Field
Presidential candidates offer few specifics so far on K-12 policy proposals. From Alyson Klein of Education Week.Republican education policy advisers and advocates are divided over where Congress and the next presidential administration should take federal K-12 policy: Some applaud the 5-year-old No Child Left Behind Act for holding states accountable for student achievement, while others are put off by the major expansion of the federal role in education. So far, it’s unclear how that debate will play out in the race for the 2008 GOP presidential nomination. Republican experts on education issues are largely uncommitted at this early stage. Some state policymakers have begun advising one of the candidates, but most are waiting to see the ideas the current candidates put forth or who else gets into the race. The next president could oversee reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind law, President Bush’s signature initiative in education, as many observers predict the measure won’t

Gay Activists Politicize White House Easter Egg Roll
Does anybody else find it ironic that gay activist groups pick the white-house egg roll to make their statement? After all the Easter egg out-dates Christianity and was a pagan symbol for fertility. Just throwing that out there. And by the way, how come the ACLU hasn’t put an end to this tradition anyway?

Animal rights activists want the icebear Knut to die
Berlin's polar bear cub Knut is very famous. Swedish newspapers have written about him and have  published cute photos of this survivor. You know, this little cutie is being raised by human hand after his mother rejected him. But now he is in a scandal. The panda who lives in the neighbor-cage has died, and the newspaper published allegations on Tuesday that Knut the celebrity polar bear cub was responsible for the sudden demise of one of its older attractions, a 22-year-old panda who was found dead in her cage.CNN:Just four days after the euphoria over the debut of three-and-a-half-month-old "Cuddly Knut," the mysterious death of Chinese-born Yan Yan stole the headlines in Tuesday's German newspapers. Top-selling Bild reported the influx of visitors to the zoo -- about 30,000 a day -- could have stressed the black and white bear, who spent much of her time lying on her back chomping at bamboo shoots. But the little bear has also got more enimies. Animal rights

Cuban activists briefed on human rights
HAVANA - U.S. authorities presented independent Cuban activists and independent journalists with the State Department's annual human rights report Wednesday, saying the situation has not changed since Fidel Castro stepped aside seven months ago Jonathan D. Farrar, the State Department's principal deputy assistant secretary for democracy, human rights and labor, spoke via video conference from Washington, answering questions from a small group of activists. "They changed one for the other," Farrar said of the 80-year-old Castro's decision in late July to temporarily cede power to his 75-year-old brother Raul while he recovered from intestinal surgery. "But we really have not seen a change in the human rights situation," Farrar added in Spanish to the group gathered inside the U.S. Interests Section, the American mission here. The survey of human rights worldwide was released Tuesday in Washington and was available on the Internet. But many attending the video conference did not see i

Said PETA, "As Miss O'Reilly seems to have to depend on the shock value of using a murdered pig as a prop, perhaps lacking the talent to make it as a proper artist, may we suggest she take up a day job instead to pay the bills?"
