The North American contribution was $35.7 million from 3,410 theaters, an easy No. 1 ahead of fellow rookie "College Road Trip" with $14 million. The film, which cost "slightly north" of $100 million to make, was almost unanimously ripped by critics. USA Today described it as a "bombastic bore" and The New York Times as "sublimely dunderheaded."
RAM CHARAN might not have had the best of debuts with CHIRUTHA, but his next movie's director RAJA MOULI is certainly putting a lot in to the script as per the film industry talk. Raja Mouli is scripting an out and out ACTION movie. Unlike Ram Charan, Raja Mouli is fresh from a HIT movie YAMADONGA. So, I just hope that it won't end up as cliched as Chirutha.
