Heidi Klum
Anne Hathaway
Red was the favorite color of many of ladies of the red carpet, including Heidi Klum, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl, Miley Ray Cyrus and Jillian Fink Dempsey, among others.
Heidi Klum red silk taffeta bustier gown with drape detail by John Galliano Haute Couture was especially riveting.
The gown had a very royal look to it, sort of the over powering look that a queen from a Disney movie may possess or perhaps the regal empress presiding over Project Runway.
Katherine Heigl
Patrick Dempsey and wife Jillian Fink Dempsey
Definitely one of the top gowns on the red carpet.
We understand that the gown will be auctioned off as part of The Heart Truth campaign to raise awareness about women and heart disease.
So if you really want to look regal and

Penelope Crus
Jessica Alba
Both Penelope Cruz and Jessica Alba choose off the shoulder gowns with feathery bodice for their Academy Award red carpet walk.
Penelope Cruz wore a navy blue feather embroidered gown specially designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Haute Couture.
The gown had layers of draped material from the waist, with the fabric gathered at the knee and flared out to the base from the knee.
Penelope Cruz makeup was by Chanel Beaute and she wore her hair in a very tight braided bun.
Pregnant Jessica Alba wore a loose fitting plum strapless Marchesa gown with feathers in the bodice.
Jessica Alba shoes and evening purse were by Jimmy Choo and her jewels were from Cartier.
The loose fitted gown helped to concealed her baby bump.

And the Oscar goes to....the red gown, which was the major hit of this year ceremony. Rich shades of rose and scarlet red made the parade runner fade away. Among other trends spotted, the one-shoulder dress is set to be this spring's highlight while the mermad silhouette, which Marion Cotillard took it literally, was almost everyone's favorite.
Anne Hathaway (Marchesa), Heidi Klum (John Galliano), Helen Mirren (George Chakra) and Katherine Heigl (Escada)

First time Academy Awards nominee, actress Marion Cotillard won the Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of the role of Edith Piaf, the legendary French singer who rose to international fame from her beginnings on the streets of Paris in the movie La Vie En Rose.
If there were a category for best gown on the red carpet, surely she would have won in that category also.
Marion Cotillard mermaid inspired designer gown was created by Jean Paul Gaultier and featured fabric shaped into white scale patterns.
The gown was gathered at the knee and flared into a fish tail like base.
This technique, we noted, was used in Rihanna green dress that she wore to the World Music Awards.

After days of rehearsals and months of planning the Academy Awards are finally here. And it wouldn't be a proper Oscar shindig without some fabulous red carpet royalty showing off for the shutterbugs.Miley Cyrus began her journey from the arrival area into the Kodak Theatre wearing a sexy, sassy red dress and turned heads wherever she went.Part of the fun of Oscar night is seeing how the stars choose to express themselves with their glamorous ensembles, and the Hannah Montana star definitely scored an A+!With so much talent in one location, it's no wonder Hollywood's elite pull out all the stops to outshine each other on this glitzy evening.
The 80th Academy Awards, just like all other Academy Awards night, features the biggest names in Hollywood all dressed up like there's no tomorrow. They're all very glitzy, glamorous and elegant but of course, there's one or two celebrities who aren't really that...[insert term here].Here are some of the female celebrities whom people not only think of as movie/tv stars, but as fashion icons too. Who do you think was the prettiest woman during the event? Who was the worst dresser? Source
For those of you who had better things to do, like pound your head against the wall, I thought I would share the highlights of the Academy Awards Show.Although he kept his front row seat, was mentioned at least three times, and presented a tribute to eighty years of Best Pictures (in tinted, not shaded specs), the antics of Jack Nicholson were thankfully kept to a minimum. But it sure was disappointing they ditched America's sweetheart, Ellen DeGeneres, in favor of Jon Stewart. Of course, with a roomful of communist sympathizers, it was not surprising Jon was back, with boring quips about Super Delegates, a couple of hits on Republicans and so on. But politics aside, was that guy ever lame. Since Billy Crystal no longer wants the gig, bring Ellen back as permanent MC. It was a relief
This is the girl from Star Wars.
Because then I'd have to watch them (it?). Just like I like swimming, but don't tune in to the "Floties" to see Todd accept the technical award for "Best Chlorine Mix," I love movies and television, but don't enjoy watching celebrities. I don't hate them, and if Scarlett Johansson wanted to share a Carrot Cake at Starbucks, I wouldn't say, "no." I just find them uninteresting or, at least, not more interesting than those in pool-maintenance.
I'm also not into fashion, fawning entertainment reporters, canned jokes, or self-righteous political comments.
Anyways, I'm very nearly done with the last of this years Oscar-nominated films (a smashing crop, so far), and I do hope you stop by for a look- It should be a ripping good post (Sorry, I'm watching Atone

I usually watch the news in the morning. My favorite station cut to the live announcement of the nominations for the Academy Awards. As I'm sitting here, I saw a nomination for Ratatouille. It's about the only movie that I've not only seen, but ever even heard of. Where are they getting these movies???

Well the Oscar season has once more came and passed. The dreck big Hollywood calls art is on display, and once again (in Lucas terms) it's a steaming pile of Sith. Before I rant anymore about the so called Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, I'm gonna give the Toxic 10. These are films that people should have recognized if their collective balls hadn't shriveled up and ascended into their pelvic regions.1.) Pan's Labyrinth - Since the Academy members haven't figured out how to read subtitles yet, this had no chance of being up for best picture. But coming from the man who brought us sweeping American epics like Mimic, Blade 2, and Hellboy (Note my sarcasm), this is a visionary piece. Beautiful, odd, and entrancing, it is something M. Night Shyamalan tried but couldn't accomplish with Lady in The Water. This will be a classic for years, wonder when the Martin Scorsese re-make will start. 2.) The Fountain - Darren Aronofsky's long awaited take on love and spirituality. An

The 79th Academy Awards (aka the Oscars) were on last night as you know... Ellen DeGeneres made a hell of a show, beating the previous years' ceremonies as the best. The 4 hours long show was awesomely entertaining, making the Grammys look like crap. Highlights of the evening includes DeGeneres vacuum-cleaning the floor, taking pictures with Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg or handing Oscar winner Martin Scorsese a script of her own. Big winners include The Departed, Little Miss Sunshine, The Queen and Pan's Labyrinth, and Dreamgirls made the best song performance ever on the Academy Awards...
