A week ago, a 47-year-old child abuser who showed a 10-year-old boy a sex toy and then fondled his private parts was put on probation and thus escaped a jail sentence. Why? Most likely because she's a woman:
Margaret Martin admitted using lewd and libidinous practices towards the child, who she met at a bus stop.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard she befriended the 10-year-old before showing him a sex toy and fondling his private parts.
The 47-year-old from Tamfourhill has been put on probation for three years and her name as been added to the Sex Offenders Register.
The court was told the abuse came to light in December 2006.
The boy told police he had been molested the year before and Martin confessed when questioned by officers.
