One of the most sought after spirits labels to go up for auction in recent years has a new owner. Pernod Ricard is the new owner of Absolut vodka after agreeing to buy Vin & Spirit AB from the government of Sweden for $8.34 billion.Pernod Ricard's offer was better than Fortune Brands and other bidders. However, in addition to the hefty sale price, the victory comes at another price: the company will no longer handle sales and distribution of the Stolichnaya brand outside Russia.With the acquisition of Absolut, the French company now has the second leading vodka brand in the U.S., plus other V&S brands, including Plymouth Gin, Cruzan rum, and Level, Fris and Luksusowa vodka.
I just really like these ads for Absolut Vokda and their new site www.absolutmachines.com. The ads are from the advertising agency TBWA/MAP out of Paris, France and creative directors Sébastien Vacherot and Manoelle van der Vaeren. Plus the absolut machines site is pretty cool, very DOS of them.
This was new. Supposed to have been launched through travel retail in February, but we sure did not see it in any of the airports we passed, so there's no taste test yet. The Absolut Ice Bar at the Nordic Sea Hotel in Stockholm is kept at freezing temperatures year-round, and its walls, bar, and decor are all made of ice. The unique square drinking glasses are even solid river ice! In fact, all drinks are served "in the rocks"! Your visit to the Absolut Ice Bar can last 45 minutes, but 20 minutes are enough to have a drink and make a few souvenir photos. It's great fun! Although the ice bar in Stockholm is probably the most famous, ice bars can be found in other cities that are popular ports of call for cruise ships. The Ice Bar in St. Petersburg is found on a quiet street right behind the Kazan Cathedral. Man sollte zu diesem feierlichen Anlass ein paar Normalenvektoren nehmen, sie anzünden und gen Himmel sausen lassen, wo sie sich als Feuerwerkskörper entpuppen sollten. Taschenrechner-Freunde wie ich würden die dann Raketen nennen.
Aber ich sitze ja auch mit Leuten zusammen, die die Decke lieber.. Ebene zwischen Dach und unterem Teil des Hauses nennen. Ich ziehe einen Kreis um mich und kauer mich in die Ecke, da kann mir niemand was. Nachmachen oder staunen. Ich könnte das.

The Absolute Ice Bar is located in Heddon Street Just of Regent Street in London. It is the first UK permanent Ice bar and is kept at a temperature of –5 all year round.
We visited the Ice Bar early September to enter a room made of ice and sculpted as the London theme, every thing apart from the floor and ceiling was ice, they had carved London underground maps as features and a full size telephone box. Even the glasses are made of ice.

Sweden's government plans to auction off Vin & Spirit next month and the company's leading brand, Absolut vodka. The little Swedish garage sale is likely to bring in $6 billion according to sale watchers. Some of the world's largest drinks firms have expressed an interest in Absolut. Se han hecho cientos de avisos para Absolut tanto reales, como de entusiastas de la marca, del diseño o la publicidad.Los hemos visto por todos lados y cada uno es más pretencioso que el otro, pero siempre (o casi) siguiendo el pie forzado a la letra: Absolut con una palabra adherida en Futura Condensed Black y la imagen principal aludiendo al diseño del envase o propiamente esté mismo . Aquí agregué algunas imágenes que no había visto hasta ahora.
Magnífica colección la que ahora tengo para todos ustedes. Se trata sin duda alguna, de maravillosos trabajos realizados bajo la inspiración de Absolut Vodka. Aunque son solamente 20 imágenes, la calidad supera en mucho nuestra propia imaginación dejando satisfecho incluso al más exigente de los buscadores de wallpapers en la Internet.

The Swedish government plans to sell V&S Vin & Sprit AB, a company it has controlled for 90 years and the maker of Absolut vodka, causing a land rush among alcohol marketers who would like to own the world's third leading selling premium liquor brand. Estimates are the sale could bring as much as $6 billion. The line of potential buyers is forming and it could get fairly long before a deal is done. Bacardi, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Fortune Brands, LVMH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton and even Anheuser-Busch have been mentioned as potential suitors. I went off all sex this week. Hardly interested in the arousing capability of my written word or getting them there, I ploughed along assessing everything up to this point in time pretty much asking myself what on Earth I was trying to accomplish in this wee space or fragment of the cyber Cosmos. They're nice people, but work gets in there like a stubborn stain that won't go away,
