Yes is the argument that Becky Akers makes in her recent LewRockwell.com article.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is no longer angering just us peons with its absurd airport checkpoints. It’s also infuriating foreign rulers. Which raises an intriguing question: given the American government’s habit of liberating oppressed people around the world, will one [...]

It's looking worse and worse for us Americans and our dollars. Jim Rogers, CEO of Rogers Holdings, recently appeared on CNBC to talk business and the US Dollar.“I will ask you this,” one of CNBC’s talking heads asks Mr. Rogers, “what would be the first two things you would do if you were in Mr. Bernanke’s seat tomorrow morning?”“I would abolish the Federal Reserve,” avers Rogers, “and I would resign,” a response that brings nervous laughter all around at the CNBC studios.Rogers then declares Bernanke and the Fed are debasing the currency in an effort to “revive America… it has never worked in the long term or medium term.” Full Story at InfowarsRogers goes on to say the Federal Reserve is causing more inflation, which means higher prices, but Rogers also explained
I do support the abolishment of New Economic Policy as promised by our political opposition parties. As a Muslim, I know that discrimination is a big NO NO in Islam; it is not our way of life. As a Malay, I also know that the New Economic Policy does not benefit all Malays for it only pampers those few elite Malays at the top (who else, UMNO la…).Yes, I do support the dismantling of the New Economic Policy. But… Can DAP in Penang for an example make sure that everybody regardless of race and religion get a fair cut in everything?Tags: malaysia kini, malaysiakini, malaysiatoday, malaysia election, 2008 election, barisan nasional 2008
Affirmative action ban heads for ballot in 5 states - CNN.com Ward Connerly, who heads the American Civil Rights Coalition -- a nonprofit organization working to end racial and gender preferences -- and the main backer of the ballot initiatives, says the 37 word initiative would read: "The state shall not discriminate against or grant preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education or public contracting."I'll admit this is a concept I have mixed feelings about. I have often defended Affirmative Action as a necessary evil. I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood, and am a white male. I have never competed for coveted positions in jobs or education so I have ne
I’ve never really liked the NHS historically, for one very important reason: poor service. Justice requires that the consumer receive the service he or she has paid for. That’s fair trade; it is the most basic principle of legitimate human interaction; exchanging value for value.
The reason I object to the NHS on principle [...]
The New York Times has, "New Jersey Nears Repeal of Death Penalty."The New Jersey Senate voted Monday to make the state the first in the country to repeal the death penalty since 1976, when the United States Supreme Court set guidelines for the nation's current system of capital punishment.Approval in the Senate was seen as the biggest obstacle to the repeal, and in the end, it passed 21 to 16, receiving the bare minimum number of votes required in the 40-seat chamber. Three senators did not vote.Legislators on both sides of the debate said they expected the measure to pass easily on Thursday in the General Assembly, where Democrats hold 50 of the 80 seats.Gov. Jon S. Corzine, a Democrat and a staunch opponent of the death penalty, has said he would sign a measure ending executions."Today New Jersey can become a leader, an inspiration to other states," Senator Robert Martin, a Republican from Morris Plains who voted for the bill, said during Monday's debate. For those opposed to
IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR!USELESS MEN TACKLE THE HOLIDAYS FOR CHRISTMAS WEEK 2007!Only 21 more days until our Christmas shopping starts. Dear Useless Men,How many elves does Santa own?MillertimeDear Millertime,The elf population has fluctuated over the years and current numbers are not known. Here's what we do know:Santa acquired his first vertically challenged helper when he kidnapped a leprechaun from a bathhouse in Irish Springs a couple hundred years ago. While this would normally paint Santa in a negative light, and many people would kill to keep this story buried in an avalanche of red tape and Christmas bows, I can assure the reason was not as heinous as it first appears. It was much worse...It wasn't long before the Irish caught on to Santa's "scientific experiments" and hunted him down. In a panic, Santa fled to the North Pole with his ill-gotten "experimental goods", green top hats and gold-buckled shoes in tow. It wasn't a hasty decision though. It was the safest place for
Reading this article by Jacob Sullum in Reason magazine (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin), it's made think even more about why China's atrocious one-child policy needs to be stopped already. And, to quote a comment that I myself wrote:
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. You were quite right to bring up the subject of China’s still reigning communism. It made me think of something: this is a country that was

According to this article marriage may become a thing of the past in California. This appears to be a case of if you can’t give everyone the same rights afforded to some, than take away the rights afforded to those people. Marriage is not a right, straight people can be denied a marriage licence yet gays are supposed to be allowed to marry no matter what.
In legal briefs submitted to the California Supreme Court regarding same-sex marriage, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Attorney General Jerry Brown both stated that a future legislature could abolish marriage and remove the rights now enjoyed by a husband and wife.
This is unbelievable. Because gays haven’t been able to gain the rights to marry, they are considering abolishing marriage all together. I have to be honest with you, when I hear this kind of militant position I lose any compassion I have for these people. Although, in today’s world where divorce is so easy to acquire, and men are required to pay the
Having spent a staggering four hours on hold with BT today, to cancel my new line order, today's post is something of a public service announcement.
If you live in the UK, you might have noticed something...
British Telecom have a monopoly on telephone lines. Although you can shift your service to other companies, the monthly service charge of £10.50 minimum is still forced onto you.

Peers have voted in favour of the Conservative motion for the Government to revoke the Home Information Pack Regulations 2007 and the Housing Act 2004.Whilst on the face of it, this vote again shows that their Lordships remain unconvinced that HIPs are the way forward, it should be remembered that the Governement can totally ignore the decision. Nevertheless, yet again, the House of Lords has shown that they agree with many of the concerns continually expressed by most Estate Agents.
A CLG spokeperson on behalf of the government made this statement “This vote will not affect the introduction of HIPs and EPCs on 1 August, which are going ahead in the interests of consumers and the environment. We think that tackling climate change and getting a better deal for consumers is vital - it is disappointing that some do not agree. They will cut nearly a million tonnes of carbon a year and help reduce the millions of pounds wasted by consumers buying and selling their homes.”Thi

Tom Tancredo, who is a Colorado Republican, said that having the Congressional Black Caucus and other assemblies that are race-based need to be abolished because they lead to segregation. He said, “It is utterly hypocritical for Congress to extol the virtues of a colorblind society while officially sanctioning caucuses that are based solely on race.”
Tancredo is known for his criticism of illegal immigration and is a 2008 presidential candidate; however, this speech was strictly on trying to ban race-based groups. He also said Thursday that “if we are serious about achieving the goal of a colorblind society, Congress should lead by example and end these divisive, race-based caucuses.”
Rep. William Lacy Clay, who is a caucus member and also running for president, dismissed Tancredo’s comments, saying “This story is really about a member of the minority party using intolerance to advance his presidential campaign.”
