Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will star in Bengali director Aparna Sen ’s debut Hindi film titled “Gulel” .
“For ‘Gulel’, I really want Abhishek and I know Abhishek wants to do the role. He has said yes,” Sen told a news agency.
“In fact, earlier on he had even allotted dates when the late Ismail Merchant ’s nephew Naeem wanted to produce it. Abhishek told Naeem that if Aparna Sen is doing ‘Gulel’, he’d do it. Then Ismail died and the project fell apart. But I’m ready to make ‘Gulel’ with Abhishek as soon as he gives the dates,” she added.

Though the film is basically women oriented with Rani Mukherjee and Konkana Sen holding the centre-stage, Abhishek and Kunal Kapoor have an important role to play in the film as well.
The quartet is currently being seen together in the song ‘Kachchi Kaliyan’ which is currently on air. Crooned by Sonu Nigam, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal, ‘Kachchi Kaliyan’ is a fast moving peppy track with slight interspersion of pop and rap.
A celebration song with a flashy set in the background, the track merges the sensibilities of producers Yash Raj Films and director Pradeep Sarkar, as can be witnessed in the picturisation.

Big B was shooting for his film, Bhootnath, when son Abhishek Bachchan, who was shooting for an ad next door, dropped in on the sets. In fact, the two kept paying each other mini-visits, sharing jokes and generally having fun. During one such break, Big B went to Abhishek’s sets to see him perform when the director sent an assistant to call Big B for a shot. The poor assistant didn’t realise that Abhishek’s shot was on and he simply walked across to call Big B, coming in the way of Abhishek and the camera.

Even before Drona nears completion, a series on the film is already in the pipeline.
